GENERAL:
- Who operates the site? How are they qualified to give this information?
-
Post Grad Planning is run by a group of leading consultants, economists, and businessmen. All members of the Post Grad Planning team are employed fulltime by top ranked consulting firms and Fortune 500 companies. Each Post Grad Planning partner has an MBA, a degree in economics, and/or a degree in mathematics—so you can be assured that you are receiving the best possible financial advice.
- Your site has limited options for its recommendations and resources. I have been to several sites that have literally thousands of options. Why do you have so few options?
-
The reason Post Grad Planning has so few options is because the experts behind Post Grad Planning know how difficult it is to choose the best options among thousands, so they scoured the web and found the absolute best options for recent college graduates. Post Grad Planning did all the hard work for you, so you don´t have to. When you sign up for one of Post Grad Planning´s recommendations, you can be assured that you are getting the best deals and maximizing your savings. Why try to look through thousands of banks and cards when the financial experts at Post Grad Planning have already done the hard work for you?
- With so many unique situations and different options, how do you know that these options are best for me?
-
We don´t. However, we do know that our recommendations and resources are the best available options for most recent college graduates. It is possible that after hours and hours of research, you may be able to find options that will better fit you, but why go through the hassle when you can be confident that the experts at Post Grad Planning have found some of the best deals available on the internet?
- I am not a recent college graduate. Is the information of Post Grad Planning applicable to me?
-
Without more specific information it is hard to say, but for most individuals with steady income, the recommendations and resources on Post Grad Planning will certainly help you save money.
- Is my personal information safe on your site?
-
When you sign up for one of Post Grad Planning´s recommendations or when you use one of Post Grad Planning´s resources, Post Grad Planning does not see, use, or store any of your personal information. When you use a recommendation or resource, it is the site we recommend to you that takes your personal information. Post Grad Planning has teamed up with some of the most respected and well-known leaders in the financial industry, so you can be confident that when you sign up on their site, your information is safe.
- In your site, you claim that you can save $500. Am I guaranteed to save that much money?
-
If you use our recommendations and resources exactly how we suggest you to, you will save money. Will you save exactly $500? Some will save more and some will save less—it depends entirely on your personal situation. We carefully detail our assumptions and means of calculating savings in the descriptions for each of our recommendations.
- Do I have to sign up for every recommendation to save money?
-
Absolutely not. That is one of the great aspects of Post Grad Planning. You do not have to use every recommendation to save money. You can signup for each recommendation separately and you can return anytime you like to Post Grad Planning and signup for any other recommendation. Although we highly advise each person to sign up for all our recommendations to maximize their savings, it is certainly not a requirement to save money.

CREDIT CARDS:
- With the financial world changing so rapidly, how often do you change your site and update it with new recommendations?
-
That entirely depends on how you use a credit card. It is a common misconception that credit cards are financially irresponsible. Credit cards work by loaning you money interest free for a month. As long as you pay off your entire credit card balance off each month before your payment is due, you are essentially getting an interest free loan. Better yet, by using your credit card and paying off the balance each month, you actually earn money. Click here to read about how much money using a credit card can save you. Credit cards are financially irresponsible if you spend more than you have and if you do not pay off your balance each month. When you do not pay your entire balance, you begin to start being charged interest. Interest on credit cards can cost you thousands of dollars and put you in a great deal of debt. Post Grad Planning recommends that you never spend more than you have and that you always pay off your entire balance. By using a credit card responsibly and by c hoosing the right credit card, you can save hundreds of dollars a year.
- You have two different credit card options, one for good credit, and one for bad/limited credit. How do I know what kind of credit I have?
-
Please visit our partner Experian and sign up for your free credit report. It takes minutes to get your credit report, and best of all its free! To read more about Experian and credit scores, please click here.
- I already have a credit card, should I still sign up for the card you recommend?
-
That depends on the credit card you currently have. For most people the answer is yes. We have found one of the best credit cards available that will allow for you to maximize your savings. Using a credit card that has no or little rewards could be costing you hundreds of dollars a year. Please click here to read about our recommended card.
- I tried to sign up for the recommended credit card and I was denied. Why was I denied? Do I have any other options?
-
Post Grad Planning does not approve credit cards and we are not given any information on why applicants have been denied. To find out why you were denied, please contact the credit card provider.
Each situation is unique and it is difficult to generalize what your other options might be. Please contact Post Grad Planning here and explain your situation and it is possible that we can help you out. If you were denied and do not know your credit score, please visit our partner Experian and take a few minutes to get your free credit report, as this will be necessary information for us to help you further.
- I notice that you recommend Quicken. Are all the credit cards you offer compatible with Quicken?

BANKS:
- I use a local bank and I have some concerns about using an online bank.
-
The advantages to using an online bank are numerous. Online banks do not have the huge overhead that other banks have and they pass these savings along to you, their customer. Online banks are able offer incredible interest rates and no fee banking that local counterparts just can´t offer—this means more money saving for you! And best of all, you can still use the bank you have now! All of the banks recommended by PGP are FDIC insured, so you never have to worry about your money being safe.
- Do I have to change banks?
-
Absolutely not. In fact, we recommend having a local bank that is convenient for you so that you can have the comfort of a local bank and the benefits of an online institution. You can easily transfer funds from or to your E*Trade or ING Direct accounts without charge.
- Do I have to open a checking account and a savings account?
-
Although we recommend opening both a checking and savings account through our either E*Trade or ING Direct, it is not a requirement. You can open a savings account, a checking account, or both. In order to maximize the savings you get from using our recommendations, we strongly urge you to open both a savings and checking account.
I notice that you recommend Quicken. Are all the bank accounts you offer compatible with Quicken?
Yes! Every bank account we recommend is fully compatible with Quicken. If you have questions on how to set up your bank account to view in Quicken, please visit the Quicken website or refer to your user manual.
